DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_192" align="alignleft" width="333"] Lama Jigme Rinpoche[/caption]\nOur Connections Shape the Future\nOn the occasion of Dhagpo’s 40th anniversary\, Lama Jigme Rinpoche is consecrating his summer retreat to the Gyalwa Karmapa. He will give instructions on the guru yoga practice of the 16th Karmapa and will give an account of his relationship with Rangjung Rigpe Dorje.  He will also give the empowerment of the 15th Karmapa. The Kagyü lineage is characterized by a specific relationship to the spiritual master; these few days are the occasion to clarify the different dimensions of what the lama is.  He is as much a person as an expression of enlightenment:  the ultimate lama\, the qualities of our own mind.\n\n \n\n\n \nThe Meeting Of Two Religions - Sunday\, August 16 • 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm\n[caption id="attachment_737" align="alignleft" width="200"] Archbishop Le Gall[/caption]\n\nArchbishop Le Gall and Jigme Rinpoche\, two spiritual masters in the Christian and Buddhist traditions\, respectively\, continue their exploration of the essential questions on the mystery of life and human destiny. Acquainted for fifteen years\, they have engaged in dialogues of this kind numerous times in the past. They published together\, “The Monk and the Lama\,” which describes\, in a profound and respectful exchange\, the commonalities and essential differences between their two spiritual traditions.\n\nAugust 15th marks the Christian Feast of Assumption. The Assumption commemorates Mary’s being taken in Heaven\, body and soul\, without facing physical death\, at the end of her life on earth. In this sense\, her fate prefigures our own destiny. Taking this founding event in the Catholic tradition as a basis\, Archbishop Le Gall and Jigme Rinpoche have chosen to exchange about the theme of liberation. What conditions must we assemble in order for the path\, be it Christian or Buddhist\, to lead us as practitioners to liberation? And\, in addition\, what is the meaning of this word in each tradition?\n\n See the program online (in French) [PDF\, 29Ko ]\n\n\n\nLama Jigme Rinpoche\n\nBeginning as a young child\, he received the traditional education of a tulku (reincarnate master) from the 16th Karmapa\, the spiritual head of Kagyü lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1975\, he became the Karmapa’s representative in Europe and in 2013 his general secretary. Known for his ability to adapt the Buddha’s teaching while remaining true to its authenticity\, he is the author of numerous works appropriate for various different audiences: youth\, corporate managers\, practitioners\, etc. Today\, he teaches throughout the world.\n\nArchbishop Le Gall\n\nAt 17 years old\, he entered into novitiate. In 1983\, he became the abbot of the Abbey of Kergonan. A specialist in theology\, he now teaches this challenging subject and has published several books\, which have become references in the field. In 2001\, Pope John Paul II entrusted him with the Mende diocese. Pope Benedict XVI named him metropolitan archbishop of Toulouse in 2006.
