Learning, Meditation and Gratitude

During this retreat that he guides three times a year, Lama Jigme Rinpoche gave numerous instructions on how to turn our minds in the direction of enlightenment, placing ourselves under the protection of the refuge. When we understand the causes of suffering, our state of mind naturally transforms, supported by the practice of Chenrezig, which brings purification, merit and blessing.

Bodhisattva in action – 50 years at the service of Karmapa and beings

This retreat carried a special resonance: May 3 marked the very day that fifty years ago, Jigme Rinpoche arrived at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, upon the request of the 16th Karmapa.

His students wished to pay tribute to his patience in guiding them and to his vast and unwavering activity for the benefit of all beings.

After the mandala offering and the traditional offerings of enlightened body, speech and mind, practitioners also expressed their gratitude towards Rinpoche by offering him a beautiful statue of Chenrezig, the longevity sutra handwritten by some 450 people throughout France, a stupa and an offering with a long-life request.

Rinpoche emphasized that Dhagpo Kagyu Ling had been built through the material and spiritual contributions of a great many practitioners, and that the foundations were in place for study, meditation and practice to continue growing.
